Each individual who walks into therapy is valuable, and I’m honored you’ve chosen to take that step. No matter what you may be struggling with, there is space for you at the table, and your personhood and dignity is to be honored.
I’ve had a passion for mental health since I was thirteen years old, and found myself sinking my identity into what mainstream culture and popular psychology had to offer. Loneliness was often my companion, with little help being found through believing I was an INFJ, enneagram 3, ect. However, over the years I’ve found my personal struggles are best addressed through relationships- my identity is not found in what I do or what is done to me. That’s why I think therapy is so valuable: the gift of community is a strong source of healing.
Exploring your values, your story, is a part of the journey we will share together in therapy. Together with scientifically based methods of improving your mental health, we will not aim just for symptom management, but for true wellness of your mind, body, and soul. This process will be shaped by your goals and desires. I hope that together we can find healing that allows for you to live a life full of purpose, wellness, and peace.
I am passionate and have done research in order to grow expertise in the areas of body image, questions of faith and religion, and women's issues. My training, however, allows me to work with whatever you want to address in counseling, and through a thorough supervision process, we will work hard to achieve your goals.
I love to read fantasy books, weightlift, and spend hours napping. I also love to talk about how much I love my home state South Carolina, and beach metaphors run in my veins.
