Hi! My name is Katie. It’s nice to meet you!
Therapist for Therapists, Mom, Adventurer, Creative
“A person is a person no matter how small” - Dr. Seuss
At The Centered Life, I enjoy working with a wide spectrum of people – from children and their families to couples and individuals. It’s fun, never boring, and also means I get to do a lot of different things during my time at the office.
Previously as a teacher, I was limited to how much I could help my students with their emotional growth. Now, as a clinical therapist, my greatest reward is getting to know my clients and their families on a more personal level.
I am passionate about working with adolescents as I am always amazed and surprised by their resilience, insight, and creativity. Understanding the dynamics of a family is important to me as it supports my work with not only children and adolescents, but couples as well. In every therapy session, I bring my ability to highlight a person’s strengths and help them find solutions that work for them.
Around the office, I enjoy connecting with my colleagues and focusing on team work. I value the opportunity to get to know them on a personal level. Taking the time to focus on caring for one another helps us be better clinicians.
One of the biggest gifts I bring to The Centered Life is creativity. In session, I seek to get to know the individual or family I am working with. Each client brings a unique perspective.
I crave connection and I bring creativity to the group by always looking at ways to explore feelings and concepts through artistic methods like painting, drawing and games, as well as talk therapy. The team is wonderful and so supportive and I’m truly honored to work here.
Outside of the office, I love going on outdoor adventures or creating art with my amazing daughter.
